Brachypelma boehmei
Mexican Beauty
Adult female
A close relative of the well known Brachypelma smithi, also known as the Mexican Fireleg. They are a dry scrubland species like their red knee cousins. They have a similar temperament, but can be a bit more nervous and don't hesitate to kick hairs. They're a pretty typical opportunistic burrower. Freshly molted, you better get your sunglasses ready. They can reach about six inches in legspan as adults.
