This deep burrowing, aggressive African is known for its fondness of moisture and needs deep substrate for burrowing. Generally a fairly shy species, however will turn defensive if startled. They will rear up and hit with their forelegs...even attempt to bite. However, this species would prefer to run than carry out these tactics. They are a nice overall rustic red and will reach

up to 8”.
